Riley Dog (nickname: Roo - it was the sound of his howl) is named after Riley, our chocolate lab, who died in late '99, hit by a train in the Rockies. He had never seen a train before. He was my wife's work companion for nine years (she's a biologist), protecting her from bears and lions. Together, they were also a famous pet therapy team, working with autistic kids and at hospitals. The logo is from a Riley tribute site that one of the kids made. Riley Dog is a referenced url in Rebecca Blood's seminal Weblog Handbook. Get it. Roo is a response to many, many requests for either a rebirth of Riley Dog or at least some way for people to view my bookmarks and someday file to continue the conversation. I have no intention of reprising Riley Dog. The hand coding of an unique template is not something I have the energy to do. Using Twitter allows me to push a button to share. No code and no FTP. Frequently given answers: Riley was a real dog
Myself, at 60 ... I am a semi-retired Family Therapist, currently in the Northern Rockies consulting on youth justice, addictions and social services systems. In other days, I was either a Welder (building bridges, ships and tanker trucks) or a Carpenter (house framing and movie/television set construction). I have 3 children, and a one grandchild. And a cat, terra, ... and again, a dog, after 10 years - a black lab named Roo. Steve BC Canada |
